The runes are from the Elder Futhark. The Elder Futhark consisted of 24 runes. It is also called the Proto-Norse, Proto-Germanic or Sam-Germanic Futhark and was in use by all Germanic peoples. One of the oldest runic inscriptions, and probably the oldest known in Norway, was found on a spearhead from Øvre Stabu on Toten. The inscription reads raunijaR ("challenger", "reigner") and dates from around 200 AD.

The ring is made of stainless steel and is available in several different sizes. The material of these rings is 316 L stainless steel, (Also called surgical steel)
