Norse mythology series Viking ships, made of stainless steel.
Highly detailed execution of jewelry in the Norse mythology series.
This pendant pays homage to the Viking ships.
Viking ships are a type of Nordic ship from the Viking Age and early Middle Ages, used in both war and trade. The slender and fast longships were well suited for war and plundering expeditions. Wider and deeper sailing ships, knarr, were used as merchant ships. A busse was a transport ship.
Viking ships were usually built for both rowing and sailing, and without a fixed deck. They did not protrude very deep into the water, so that they could dock in shallow water. Also characteristic is the shape, where the sides of the hull have a strong curvature upwards towards the bows, and the flexible and agile construction, which was a prerequisite for the ships not to collapse in high seas.
