Norse mythology series Frigg
Highly detailed execution of jewelry in the Norse mythology series.
This pendant honors Frigg, made of stainless steel.
Frigg knows the fate of people as well as Odin himself. She is also the goddess of marriage. She has her own hall, Fensalir ("Water Hall"). She is often confused with Freya.
With Odin, Frigg has a son, Balder, who is killed when Loki tricks Hod into shooting a mistletoe at him after Loki learns that the mistletoe is the only creature on earth that can harm Balder. Frigg feels very guilty after this incident, since she did not ask the mistletoe to promise never to harm Balder.
Her messenger is the þasyn Gnå, who rides across the sky on the horse Hofvarpnir. Other þasyns Frigg is associated with are Lin, who protects all people whom Frigg wishes to protect, and Fulla, who carries Frigg's box, looks after her shoes, and knows all her secrets.
In Snorri's Ynglingesaga, Frigg is known for, among other things, having been unfaithful to Odin, with his brothers Vilje and Ve, once Odin was on a journey for so long that they thought he was dead.
The three stars in Orion's belt in the constellation Orion were called "Frigg's Rock" in Norse mythology.
