The Fenris wolf is a terrifying wolf-like monster in Norse mythology. He is the son of the jötn Loki and the jötn woman Angerboda, brother of the Midgard Serpent and Hel, and half-brother of Sleipnir. The Fenris wolf is a threat to the Æsir, and therefore they want to chain him up, but they must use cunning, treachery, and magic to capture him. When Ragnarok comes, the Fenris wolf breaks free from his chains and kills Odin, before being killed himself by Odin's son Vidar.
